Who are we?

Jessie Voermans founded Lava Legato in 1995. From 2005 until 2011 Jessie Voermans and Faouzi Chihabi have been business partners. During this period they founded trattoria Borgo d’Aneto as well as numerous educational projects. The trattoria is a learning company, where lower secondary education students gain work experience. The trattoria started as one of the projects that Lava Legato development executes, but has now developed into an initiative that needs fulltime attention. For this reason, Faouzi and Jessie decided to go separate ways. On 1 May 2011 Jessie withdrew as director of trattoria Borgo d’Aneto to focus on educational innovation and activities related to social purposes. Faouzi will focus fully on the trattoria. Where possible Jessie and Faouzi will collaborate to organize social and educational projects together.

Lava Legato development does not have employees but works with self-employed people and freelancers for the execution of assignments and projects.

Jessie Voermans graduated in 1994 at Tilburg University in the field of Developmental Psychology. After her studies she started her own company, aimed at developing assessment tools for staff selection and recruitment and personnel management.  Jessie carried out very diverse assignments for profit and non-profit companies in The Netherlands and abroad. Jessie carried out assignments for, among others, Agentschap NL, various educational institutions (secondary education, (preparatory) vocational education, higher vocational education, university education), Ahold, United Parcel Service, Hertz and Grafton Recruitment (Dublin). Gradually the focus of her work has moved from general personnel management to specific activities surrounding education, specifically aimed at internationalization and entrepreneurship.
